Transition Arrangements

We aim to ensure that the transition between home/pre-school and primary school is as happy and smooth as possible. Parents tell us that our arrangements are excellent and really do make starting school an enjoyable experience – for children and parents!

During the term prior to starting school, children and parents/carers are invited to attend a number of taster sessions in June and July. In addition, reception teachers arrange to visit children in their preschool settings, with reciprocal visits to the school.

For parents/carers, we hold an information afternoon in June, with the opportunity to meet staff and governors and to find out more about “starting school”, as well as a social evening to enable parents to get to know each other.
