School Meals, Free School Meals and Pupil Premium
School meals are available every day and are cooked fresh on the premises by our school chef and catering team. Dinner money is payable via our online payments system, ParentPay.
Parents can pre-order their child’s meal in advance through your ParentPay account. The ordering deadline is the Thursday lunchtime before the following week. If you forget to place your orders the children will be able to either bring a packed lunch from home or select a baked potato which is available with a variety of fillings.
In order to encourage healthy eating habits, sweets are not allowed in school. If you would like to send your child with a snack to eat during morning break, then fruit, celery, raisins or raw carrots are allowed. In addition to a lunchtime drink, please send your child to school with a named bottle of water, which can be re-filled during the day as required.
Your child might be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
All children who are registered as eligible to receive free school meals due to their level of family income, or who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years, will attract additional funding called The Pupil Premium. This additional funding is paid directly to the school to support pupils.
Even if you do not wish your child to have a free school meal on a regular basis, or even at all, we still ask that you apply for free school meals. The Pupil Premium will benefit your child’s school as additional funding, and will also enable your child to take up a free school meal any day they choose.
Universal Infant Free School Meals
Your child will be able to get free school meals if they’re in:
If you also qualify for any of the benefits listed above, even though your child is automatically entitled to a free meal, it is still important that you apply for free school meals. This will entitle our school to receive pupil premium as additional funding to provide support for pupils.
