#Dring10 enjoyed some drama in their English lesson yesterday. The children worked in groups to imagine what would happen next in one of our chapters of `Holes` by Louis Sachar. They had some incredible, creative ideas and acted in role with brilliant accents and body movements. We were so impressed with the creative stories and teamwork!

What an amazing team we had this week helping us repair the tennis racquets by learning to regrip them! This group were 100% #dringcurious when they saw Miss Eames getting started and offered their help. They should be incredibly proud of what they achieved - ensuring even better tennis sessions this term for the whole of KS2!

Book club in #Dring10 today was so much fun with the children sharing their ideas for sequels to their favourite books. Ideas included a sequel to The 3 Little Pigs where the wolf was actually under the influence of a mysterious dark force and teams up with the pigs, and a sequel to The Dictionary where `only fun words remain`. The children shared their incredibly imaginative ideas and loved thinking about how they could even write their sequels. A great discussion was had by all! Happy World Book Day ...and what a great day it was! UKS2 focused on `The Book of Mythical Beasts and Magical Creatures` and learnt about creatures of the air, land and sea. We did a STEM investigation on flying with Miss Eames, orienteering to solve puzzles with Mr Field and made creatures of our own using our computing skills with Mrs Skidmore. We finished the day by reading with our house groups. A brilliant effort all round on outfits as well - thank you!

The children learnt all about rationing, morse code, Enigma, and the Home Front. They used their own machines to create morse code and decipher it and cracked an Enigma coded message. We looked at how to follow instructions to play new games and games we THOUGHT we knew how to play - well I didn`t realise they were the rules. Turns out instructions are REALLY important to follow...so don`t throw them away!

Today, Class 10 enjoyed a fun filled afternoon of science. Chris, and his team from York University, came to deliver an exciting and interesting workshop all about cells. We got the opportunity to use microscopes and then drew what we could see. Then, to finish with, we made edible models of cells. It was so much fun and we learnt loads. It was Class 7`s turn for a History to Life workshop today. We loved learning even more about Ancient Egypt. It was great to see the class use the knowledge they`ve built over the last half term and apply it in a new way.

This morning some Year 5 and 6 children went to the Sports Hall Athletics competition @ Energise. They did themselves and the school proud. 1sts, 2nds, 3rds and 4ths in track and field events (mostly 1sts) which meant as a collective Dringy, with a whopping 336 points, came out ON TOP #1! 🏆.

We had a visit from Jez and Paulette from Google today who were very impressed with our knowledge about e-safety. We brushed up on our skills for keeping ourselves safe and reminded ourselves of the Be Internet Legends Pledge!
