Following this, they created a `Blackout Poem` by selecting words that they felt were important to make a new poem. The children then added an image to black out the rest of the words. It was Year 4`s turn at @theyorkshiremuseum today. They were just as curious and thoughtful as Year 3 were yesterday and had fantastic questions. Getting to see so many rare and important artifacts uncovered at a site so close to where we live was awe inspiring.

Today, we celebrated all the knowledge we have gained by creating our own paints from nature and designing our own cave-painting inspired pictures.

Today, #Dring10 started their new computing unit of `Word Processing`. The children learnt all about how to use Google Docs, how to format their work, and ways of adding images to their document. They also considered copyright rules when adding their images. The children produced their own amazing `All About Me` documents, which were a pleasure to read.

Today, #Dring10 started their new computing unit of `Word Processing`. The children learnt all about how to use Google Docs, how to format their work, and ways of adding images to their document. They also considered copyright rules when adding their images. The children produced their own amazing `All About Me` documents, which were a pleasure to read.

What a day it was for our children yesterday with the Staff vs Year 6 netball match! It was a fantastic event full of intense competitiveness and a gruelling workout for us teachers. It was tricky trying to get the ball past Mr Laycock and Jonathan but they managed to score a few goals. Although the children tried their best, the staff took no prisoners and won 20 something- 6. Better luck next time, Year 6!

We then had to bring the drawings to life by creating a 3D model using papier maché techniques. We were very proud of the final pieces. Well done, Class 10!

The children learnt about what a trailblazer is before solving riddles linked to 17 trailblazers from York such as Mary Tuke and Annie Coutlate. They also created their own freeze frames based on their learning. The trail can be done from 1st August across York and our children are keen to share their knowledge!

They used microscopes to observe different cells, tested the pH levels of household liquids, used electromagnets to move paperclips, and explored circuits. We had a brilliant morning and loved engaging in some practical science. Thanks to Millthorpe for hosting us!
